The PAYCE sponsored cars at this year's Muscle Car Masters

Touring car racing from the 1960s through to the 1990s at Sydney Motorsport Park.

PAYCE was well represented at this year's Muscle Car Masters held at Sydney Motorsport Park over the Father's Day weekend. The event once again attracted a large contingent of motorsport fans keen to see, hear and feel the cars that dominated touring car racing in the 1960s through to the 1990s.

PAYCE takes motor sport straight to the heart of Australian Motorsport fans

PAYCE sponsored cars and drivers provided strong support across a number of categories. Touring Car Masters and three Group N classes were racing, which cater for cars ranging from Ford Mustangs and Holden Monaros to Mini Coopers of the '60s era.

Racing on Saturday was held in ideal conditions before overnight rain developed. Some showers through Sunday could not deter fans and their families, all keen to make Father's Day a special day. In line with the courtesy from previous years, fans were able to get up close to check out the cars and meet the drivers on both days.

PAYCE Runaway Wins with Outstanding Pole performances by our Drivers – Brian Boyd

John Bowe thrilled the many fans with a powerful display of driving in the Touring Car Masters races. Jim raced his Torana SLR 5000 to wins in the three Touring Car Masters races while also achieving a new lap record, placing him in contention for a shot at the championship. John also enjoyed success in the Group Nc races, driving the ex-Bob Jane Monaro across the line for two 3rd places and a 4th before retiring with a mechanical fault in the final race.

The outstanding performance for the PAYCE sponsored cars and drivers was David Wall's in the ex-Ian Geoghegan Mustang. David took the ultimate with pole positions and runaway wins in all four Group Nc races plus setting a new lap record for the category.

There is Nothing like the Classic Cars of 1960's Australian Motorsport – Brian Boyd

PAYCE's Managing Director, Brian Boyd, a long-time supporter of Australian motorsport, was trackside to relish the action-packed weekend of racing and catch up with many friends and colleagues in the sport.

"This is always an exciting and entertaining meeting. The cars are spectacular to watch, they sound fantastic and they provide close racing," Mr. Boyd said.

One race car featuring PAYCE livery to attract mountains of fan attention across the whole weekend was John Bowe's Mustang Sally. Sally was driven by former competitor and TV commentator, Neil Crompton. Neil strapped into the seat for the first time and acquitted himself well. Neil pushed for a well deserved 4th and 3rd placing, before being involved in a on-track incident. Pitting for a change of tyres unfortunately pushed him down the order to finish 15th in the final race.

A great day was enjoyed by all and PAYCE`s Brian Boyd commented on this exciting spectacle of motor racing.

"Congratulations to everyone associated with the weekend of racing – the organisers, the drivers, the fans and the volunteers- all contributed to a great two days of racing and to giving us the opportunity to relive a wonderful era in Australian motorsport," said Mr. Boyd

"The cars are always presented in immaculate condition and it's a pleasure and privilege to be involved with the Muscle Car Masters event through our sponsorship of the three classes of Group N and our support of teams in the Touring Car Masters championship," finished Brian Boyd.
